I’ve been blogging for over a year, so I know 75% of these terms and now it’s time that I’m bumping my SEO up to the next level with a Holistic SEO approach and to know and understand 100% of these terms. We’ll get to that definition halfway through this glossary. The definitions from this glossary are from a Google Search or Wikipedia.

Keyword Research Glossary for Bloggers
The terms in this post is a glossary to help understanding keyword research for bloggers. This blog post is going to be a continuing part of a blog series that I’m writing about concerning how to have a Holistic SEO approach for your website. I’ve got a lot to learn before I start putting together all of the pieces of the Holistic SEO approach and pull them together.

Algorithm (of a search engine): A search engine algorithm is a complex algorithm used by search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing to determine a web page’s significance.
Algorithm (of Pinterest): First, Pinterest creates your home feed based on the traditional ranking algorithm. Then, the controllable distribution algorithm reviews the variety of the content in this feed, and makes changes based on what you’ve searched for in the past.

Crawlability: Crawlability describes the search engine’s ability to access and crawl content on a page. If a site has no crawlability issues, then web crawlers can access all its content easily by following links between pages
Crawler (also referred to as bots, robots, and spiders): A Web crawler, sometimes called a spider or spiderbot and often shortened to crawler, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web,
Google: Search the world’s information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you’re looking
Google Analytics: Google Analytics is used to track website activity such as session duration, pages per session, bounce rate etc. of individuals using the site, along with the information on the source of the traffic.
Google Search Console: Search Console tools and reports help you measure your site’s Search traffic and performance, fix issues, and make your site shine in Google Search results. The Power of Google Search Console for WordPress.
Holistic SEO approach: Holistic SEO (search engine optimization) refers to improving all important aspects of a website to make it rank higher in the search engines. The ultimate goal is to make a website fulfill its users’ needs on all levels. The holistic approach to SEO is one of two legitimate paths you can take to rank your website up the search engine results.
Index: An index is another name for the database used by a search engine. Indexes contain the information on all the websites that Google (or any other search engine) was able to find. If a website is not in a search engine’s index, users will not be able to find it. The index as the main reference point. It is the source data in Google’s index that ultimately determines the value of different search terms and keywords.
Indexability: The accessibility and transparency offered by a web page to search engine web crawlers to facilitate downloading and cataloguing. A characteristic that can be strengthened by employing web optimization techniques.
Internal link: An internal link is a type of hyperlink on a web page to another page or resource, such as an image or document, on the same website or domain. Hyperlinks are considered either “external” or “internal” depending on their target or destination.
Keyword research: Keyword research is a practice search engine optimization (SEO) professionals use to find and research search terms that users enter into search engines when looking for products, services or general information. Keyword stuffing: refers to the practice of loading a webpage with keywords or numbers in an attempt to manipulate a site’s ranking in Google search.
Landing pages: a landing page is a standalone web page, created specifically for a marketing or advertising campaign. It’s where a visitor “lands” (when they visit the page).
Link building: Link building, simply put, is the process of getting other websites to link back to your website. … Building links is one of the many tactics used in search engine optimization (SEO) because links are a signal to Google that your site is a quality resource worthy of citation. There are two methods of link building. The first one is the one that is recommended and be extremely careful if you use the latter (called black-hat methods).
- White-hat methods: White hat SEO refers to SEO tactics that are approved by the major search engines and compliant with their terms and conditions. These techniques are safe.
- Black-hat methods: Black hat SEO is a practice against search engine guidelines, used to get a site ranking higher in search results. These unethical tactics don’t solve for the searcher and often end in a penalty from search engines. Black hat techniques include keyword stuffing, cloaking, and using private link networks.
Long tail keyword: A long tail keyword is a phrase that is generally made from three to five words. Since these keywords are more specific than generic terms, they allow you to target niche demographics. … With long tail keywords, you are able to attract more high-quality traffic to your website which is more likely to lead to conversions.
Niche: A niche blog is a blog that is very specialized – it targets a distinct audience in the market. Instead of writing about anything and everything, a niche blog focuses on something specific that a smaller group of people find very interesting.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): SEO stands for search engine optimization, which is a digital marketing strategy that focuses on your website’s presence in search results on search engines like Google. When you understand how SEO works, you can use different tactics to increase your visibility (or how high you rank) in search results. SEO improvement posts.
Search Engine Results Page (SERP): The page that a search engine returns after a user submits a search query. In addition to organic search results, search engine results pages (SERPs) usually include paid search and pay-per-click (PPC) ads.
User experience (UX): User experience (UX) focuses on having a deep understanding of users, what they need, what they value, their abilities, and also their limitations. It also takes into account the business goals and objectives of the group managing the project. UX is important for SEO, because search engines want to provide people with the best result for their query.
