There are so many facets to blogging. Please take a moment of your busy time to take one of these five (5) quizzes with a total of 39 questions (if you were to take them all) to help steer your blog in the right direction.
NOTE: These quizzes are on a landing page, so the quiz images may take a little longer to download. Don’t worry if you don’t see them right away, you should be able to see the quizzes within a minute or less.
The results of these quizzes aren’t being sent, the quizzes are meant to provide you with inspiration and insight into your blogging journey.
When I wrote this I wanted to share with you all my results from taking each of these quizzes. At the time I wrote this I was a very beginning blogger, it’ll be a nice reflection now (nearly 6 months later) to see how far I’ve come (with before and after answers). Hopefully, by that time my scores are significantly higher and of course, I hope to have a lot more subscribers on my blog and hopefully between 500 – 1000 followers on Pinterest – Here’s the link to my Pinterest Boards for PinArtwork Blogger.
Table of Contents
Quiz #1: What Kind Of Blogger Are You?
A. The Business Blogger
Fueled by your passions, your interests, your desire to profit and keep moving forward, you’re always on the lookout for new information, ideas and perspectives. You try to stay ahead of the game, and often, you do.
The “A” stands for “my” answers that were from when this blog post was initially written. The Update as of 12/21/2020 reflects my new answers 5 1/2 months (almost 6 months) down the road.
Update as of 12/21/2020: The Trendsetter – You set the trends and we follow! You bring excitement and color in a seemingly drab world. The online space can often seem black and white and you add a dash of life with your tips, tricks, and charisma.
Quiz #2: Is Blogging Right for You?
A. Blogging Just Might Be Your Thing
You have a great handle on all that blogging involves! Ultimately the decision to start a blog is up to you. But it seems that you know what you will need to do to grow your blogging business and are also willing to put in the work and do what it takes.
Update as of 12/21/2020: No change, same as before.
Quiz #3: Think you’re ready to turn your blog into a business?
A. Blogger Building Bridges
You’re on your way! Turning your blog into a business is definitely in your future, there are just a few more bridges to cross. You’ve got the passion, but maybe you need to work on your branding a little more, create a signature opt-in freebie, or work on growing your audience. You have a bunch of ideas and goals, but you’re not sure what to work on first. With the right tools and a little direction you’ll go far!
Update as of 12/21/2020: Boss In Training! Hey Boss In Training! You’ve got what it takes to take your blog to the next level. Quiz #4: What Type Of Content Creator Are You?
A. The Teacher
You successfully break down an idea or task into bite size parts that build on each other. You allow your audience to achieve success at the completion of each goal based on the steps you’ve provided.
You prefer to provide examples such as screenshots or screen shares that allow students to work while you teach. You understand that you must provide the why to your audience before you show the how.
Update as of 12/21/2020: No Change
Quiz #5: Where are You in your Blogging journey?
A. You need traffic!
This was no surprise to me. As I mentioned earlier, I know that I need more traffic but it’s going to take some time and patience for that to come. In the meantime between now and then, I can take advantage by creating plenty of content for people to view.
You’re on the right track to taking your future into your own hands by building your blog. There are a few things holding you back, though. Maybe you’re scared about the risk or have trouble staying optimistic when growth seems slow. You know you need more traffic, but you’re not always 100% sure how to encourage new readers.
Update as of 12/21/2020: Wahoo! I was glad to see this: You mean business! You’ve got what it takes to blaze your own trail. Surround yourself with a strong support system and you’ll go far. You have got so many systems in place and feel like you are finally getting there.
Quiz #6: What should be your focus on your blogging biz right now?
A. You need to focus on Content!
It sounds like your blog is in the early stages. You really need to create some more content so when the traffic starts flowing they have something awesome to read!
When you first launch a blog you want between 15 – 20 blog posts published. That way you have plenty of content to promote on social media, and plenty of other places for your readers to go and enjoy more of your site.
Don’t worry if you’ve already launched and don’t have this many posts. Just focus on producing really high quality content that your readers will actually gain value from.
Then once you have a library of around 20 posts, with opt-in freebies ideally, it time to start working on your traffic!
Update as of 12/21/2020: This has switched from content to focusing on e-mail subscribers which was kind of a little surprise to me. You need to focus on: Email Subscribers
You’ve got a blog full to the brim with amazing content!
You have plenty of visitors lapping all your knowledge up! But hold on, where’s your email list? Oh no. It’s either very, very small, or completely non-existent. It’s time to really start focusing on growing your list. There are 3 simple steps to doing that.
1) Create awesome opt-in freebies that your readers will love.
Remember good freebies shouldn’t really require any work from the reader, it should just be download and play information!
2) Place email opt-in forms everywhere!
Okay, maybe not everywhere. But at least 2 – 3 on each page or post. You could have one in your sidebar, one embedded within the post, and one pop-up.
3) Keep your email list nice and warm by sending them super high-value content regularly (weekly ideally).
To ensure your subscribers are engaged, and therefore more likely to buy something off you in the future, it’s important to keep communicating with them and earn their trust
