The Star Trek Generations movie is a great film. It says goodbye to most of the characters from Star Trek The Original Series (TOS) and at the same time turns the reigns of the Star Trek saga over to Star Trek – The Next Generation (TNG). In this post, Favorite screencaps from the movie Star Trek Generations you’ll see my favorite screencaps from the movie Star Trek Generations.

One of the items I like best about this movie is that Captain Picard meets Kirk and we see two great Star Trek icons at the same time.
Some of the other moments to watch in this movie Star Trek Generations Data Emotion chip is activated and we see a few emotions from Data that we’ve never seen before. Wouldn’t it be great if we have an emotion chip that we could just turn off for a little bit?

Favorite screencaps from the movie Star Trek Generations

I was wanting to make one pin (in Adobe Photoshop) for Star Trek Generations which I may do once I have all of these in place. But after looking at all of the screenshots it was very difficult to off of the top of my head come up with one pin to represent the whole movie.
So in the meantime, I’m doing homage to the film by choosing my favorite images from the film and put them into the outline that I’ve created below. Then I’ll have a better idea as to which pictures to put into one pin that best personifies the whole movie. More than likely I’ll try to incorporate the top 8 – 10 pictures. I’d like to put at least one from every scene that I’ve outlined but that would be too cumbersome in Adobe Photoshop.
1. Opening Scene
The new Enterprise is getting ready to make it’s first voyage and they’ve invited Captain James T. Kirk to help celebrate the occasion.
2. Distress Call
Shortly into their voyage, the Enterprise receives a distress call and the Captain aboard doesn’t know how to properly respond so he asks for the aid of Captain Kirk.
3. Remove the Plank
Worf gets promoted in a holodeck and Riker instructs to remove the plank and Captain Picard reminds him that the proper saying is to “Retract the Plank”.
4. Data’s Emotion chip
Data asks his friend Geordi to install the long overdue emotion chip so that he can become more human. Here are a few scenes where we see Data using his new found sense of emotions. He’s such a talented actor.
5. Data’s Magnetic Personality
Data has received the emotion chip and for the first time he experiences overwhelming emotions. about the same time this is going on Guinan senses a presence that she hasn’t felt in a long time coming from Dr. Soren. This is the only movie that I can think of where Data actually appears to be afraid.
6. What’s the Nexus?
Guinan explains that Dr. Soren wants to return to the Nexus and provides a short explanation and warns Picard that Nexus is a place, that if he goes there he’ll never want to leave. Shortly after that Dr. Soren has captured Geordi and has placed a device in his visor so that they can track what he sees when he’s walking around about on the Enterprise (to get the Enterprise’s shield frequency).
7. I no longer want these emotions.
Data expresses to Captain Picard that he no longer wants his emotion chip and Captain Picard sternly (denies the request) warns him of his duties that are required and that he’s a Starfleet Officer.
8. Better hostage
Captain Picard convinces the people aboard Dr. Soren’s ship that he knows what they are doing and he offers himself in exchange for Geordi and says that he’d make a better hostage. In exchange they need to beam him down to the planet to talk to Dr. Soren and they agree to the arrangement.
9. Deanna, get us out of orbit!
As mentioned before the Klingons are looking for the Enterprises shield frequency and they attack as soon as they find it.
10. Crash landing
After being attacked by the Klingons, the Enterprise is forced to do a crash landing.
11. Picard in the Nexus
Captain Picard and Dr. Soren get into the Nexus. Picard shortly discovers it’s not real. Guinan tells him she knows someone who can help him.
12. Captain Picard meets James T. Kirk
Captain Jean Luc Picard tries to enlist the aid of Captain James T. Kirk to save the day because they are both trapped in the Nexus and they both have discovered it’s not real. With movie magic, they return to the past as though the event never occurred at all to change the future.
13. Farewell to Captain Kirk
A farewell to Captain James T. Kirk and the end of Star Trek The Original Series. As it moves to the new movies for Star Trek The Next Generation.
14. I’ll be back
Picard tells Riker: “Somehow I doubt that this will be the last ship to carry the name Enterprise” and the Star Trek legend still continues.
I hope that you enjoyed this post with screencaps from Star Trek Generations.
