Use the method (outlined in this post) to build up a whole month of pins easily and quickly in Tailwind. This method to create a monthly pinning schedule in Tailwind easily and quickly will grow your blog’s web traffic.
“This post contains affiliate links, which means I will make a commission at no extra cost to you should you click through and make a purchase.“

Before Pinterest changed their Pinterest algorithm I swore by using Tailwind on a regular basis. But now I don’t think it’s quite such a good move to make because Pinterest might define those Tailwind pins that you pin from other Tailwind communities as a duplicate pin.
I’ll probably get ousted from the Pinterest community for saying this, but you’re far better off by providing fresh new pins to Pinterest (rather than using Tailwind).
Create a monthly pinning schedule in Tailwind easily and quickly to grow your blog’s web traffic.
Create a pinning schedule to pin the same pin to multiple boards. (NOTE: Don’t exceed a maximum of 10 boards at one time). For best use, use Tailwind to have your pin reach larger audiences than just your personal boards.
Update: I was in the middle of updating my posts to ensure that my blog posts are optimized for SEO when I discovered that I had written this guidance about pinning the same pin to multiple boards.
Please don’t follow this premature advice that I had earlier recommended in the beginning of my Pinterest days. It lead to my Pinterest account getting suspended and I don’t want that to happen to you. The rest of the information in this post is still relevant with the exception of this part.
The best advice I can give you is pin to the most relevant board, once and only once. Don’t duplicate your pins. I normally make at least 10 pins for every post so you can pin one pin to a favorite board of yours, your Group Board, or the relevant board.
The important thing is to not duplicate your pins. I can’t stress enough the importance of ensuring that you don’t spam Pinterest which can result in your Pinterest account getting totally suspended.
Tailwind Create
Tailwind has developed a new program that allows you to create a batch of beautiful pins in no time at all. In less than a 2-hour time-frame, I was able to create 32 pins (about 1 pin every 4 minutes). This would have normally taken me a lot longer and the Tailwind Create program churned out a whole bunch of “suggested” pins for me to schedule.
If you want to be a perfectionist, you could ideally take a screen shot of the pin and make it in Canva. Sometimes, the pin has a little too much detail, but 9 times out of 10 I take the pin right out of Tailwind and schedule it as is (without making any modifications. If you’re a blogger, I’d highly suggest that you check out this program.

For example, 81 pins on 10 boards at one time equates to 810 pins. My schedule is set to 26 pins per day. Follow the Tailwind guidelines and adjust if it says you’re getting close to “spamming. You don’t want to mess with that can of worms. It’s messy and can take days to get your account back.
But it does happen from time to time. Be patient, e-mail Pinterest and wait for them to respond. Normally they respond in 1 to 2 days, but it can take three to four days to reactivate your Pinterest). Don’t risk it!
Use the Shuffle button and double-check your pins carefully (after they’re shuffled). Rearrange any back to back pins or do I like I do and shuffle your queue twice.
810 pins divided by 26 pins/day = 31 days.
(i.e., 81 pins all at once into 10 boards covers a range of 31 days).
With having nearly 60 posts, all I need to do is pick 1 or 2 pins from each of my various posts (to get up to 81 pins).
How do you build up to 81 pins? By ensuring that you have a minimum of 10 pins for each of your posts and adjust accordingly based on the number of posts that you have.
By having a minimum of 20 posts for your blog that would be 200 pins (20 X 10).
Remember, Pinterest is looking for “new” and “fresh” content. Keep pinning.
If you’re using locked pins and you want to shuffle your queue, the scheduled “locked” pins won’t move to another time slot and will remain fixed in their position.
You will already appreciate that in order to do daily pins to numerous boards, the only practical way to do this (if you want to save time), is to use a scheduler.
It is vitally important though, to ensure that you use a scheduler that Pinterest officially accept as a 3rd party tool.
The hands down best tool for Pinterest scheduling is Tailwind. There are others to use that you can find on the Internet. This is the only tool that I prefer to use for scheduling pins.
Benefit of Locked Pins
Have you noticed (if you look closely) that there are locks all over your scheduled Pins, but you aren’t sure how they got there or how to change it from an unlocked pin to a locked pin? By default, your pins when they’re scheduled are put into the “Unlocked” position (slid to the left).
When creating a schedule, every so often you want to mix up your scheduled Pins and shuffle your content (especially if there are a lot of pins scheduled back to back).

For example, if you’re scheduling one pin to multiple boards, you do NOT want the pins to all show as being posted consecutively – this is a sure-fire way to get your Pinterest account flagged for spam.
Anyone who is part of a group board with rules, knows that you don’t want to always mix up all of your Pins. There are certain Pins that need to stay exactly where you put them.
By toggling the Lock on the scheduled pin, Tailwind won’t move that pin (or other locked pins) if you were to re-arrange your content by shuffling.
Locking your pins makes your queue more flexible, it means that while the locked pin won’t move if you shuffle you can still drag and drop a locked pin. If you want to take the time to move a locked pin, it should move!
How to Lock and Unlock Pins
- Go to the Scheduled Pins page (of Tailwind).
- Within the “Your Schedule” section of Tailwind, hover your mouse over the bottom of the Pin image to toggle right to Lock or toggle left to Unlock.
