In this post, craft the perfect keyword-rich title, it’s easy to under-appreciate your page’s title tag: many browsers (particularly Google’s Chrome) barely allocate any space to displaying the page title properly. However, for SEO purposes the title tag reigns supreme. Many SEOs feel the title tag is single most important signal to search engines as to what a given page is about.
And as if that’s not enough, the page title is featured prominently in the snippets displayed on search engine result pages, which help browsers decide which results to click on.
In this post, I’ll show you how to master the art of the perfect page title, so you can boost your Page Relevancy and attract more clicks at the same time.

Craft the Perfect Keyword-Rich Title
1. Learn how to customize your page title
Some Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress will automatically populate your page’s title tag with your post (or page) title. However, you can gain greater control over your title tag by installing a plugin (such as Rank Math SEO) which will let you specify whatever title tag you like. This can be useful if, for example, you’d like your title tag to more prominently feature the target keyword than your headline does. If you’re not sure how to change the title tag of a page on your website, ask your webmaster to show you how.
2. How to incorporate your keyword
For maximum SEO benefit, you should include your target keyword towards the beginning of your page title. Don’t just repeat the keyword more than once unless appropriate and try to limit the length of the title to around 60 characters (too long, and the title will be truncated when displayed in the search engine results). A decent title for the keyword “yoga retreats” might be: “Relaxing Yoga Retreats in Capitola, CA”. A bad title might be: “Yoga retreats, yoga retreat Capitola, yoga wellness retreat, retreats for yogis, yoga retreat luxury discount sale free”.
3. Make the searcher want to click
Last but certainly not least, the perfect title should capture the searcher’s attention and give them an uncontrollable desire to click through to your website. In marketing-speak, a great title needs a “hook”. This may be an intriguing description (“Yoga Retreats for the Enlightened Soul”), a compelling offer (“Save 50% on Yoga Retreats Booked Online”), or a claim that helps establish your site as the searcher’s best option for that keyword (“Named “Best Yoga Retreat” by Travel+Leisure Magazine 2013″).
