Today’s Blogtober post looks at the Top 50 Greatest movies. Please forgive me because there are so many good movies out there, that there’s an extremely good chance that I overlooked one or two movies that should have been on this list.

Catch me if you Can – Great movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. It’s based on a true-life story of a con man who was wanted by the FBI. After his capture, he started working for the FBI and became responsible for changing the checking industry for check fraud.
Entrapment – One of the best scenes in the movie is where there’s a lot of bending and twisting through an elaborate system of lasers to pull off a heist.
Fool’s Gold – Love this movie. There’s a lot of chemistry between the two stars as they look for a treasure and fall in love all over again.
Ghost – I can’t watch this movie without crying at the end. This movie is iconic for the scene where they are sitting down and molding a clay pot together.
Groundhog Day – Can’t but help Groundhog Day every time I see this movie. By now I should have the movie memorized. But it’s still so fun to watch.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days or less – This is the other movie that also starred the two from Fool’s Gold. It’s got a very good premise. He has to make her fall in love with him, and she’s writing a magazine article (unknown to him) on how to lose a guy in 10 days or less.
Independence Day (ID4) – Fantastic cinema scenery in this movie. The second movie is also good and stars a few of the same people that were in the first one. I wish though that Will Smith would have been in the second one.
Jumanji movies – These Jumanji movies are so comical. I think there might be another one coming out soon where the kids don’t go to Jumanji, it’ll be like the first movie that creatures from Jumanji come into the real world again.
Jurassic Park movies – these movies make you believe that dinosaurs actually exist. They look and sound so real. Like how would we know what they actually sound like? From the other dinosaur movies we’ve seen of course.
Kingsmen I and II – The first movie was far better than the second one. The second one was a little bit of a disappointment.
Kiss Me Kate – an oldie but a goodie. Lots of singing in this movie and a little bit of Shakespeare. Brush up your Shakespeare. Don’t know what I mean? You gotta see the movie.
Les Miserable – This is another movie that I get choked up at the end. I don’t want to spoil the movie for someone who hasn’t seen it.
Lord of the Ring movies – My Precious! These movies were phenomenal. Can’t believe they were able to get such an epic novel onto the big screen.
Mannequin – An older movie starring Kim Catrall who is a mannequin that only one person can see and hear. It also stars one of the ladies from the Golden Girls.
Matrix Trilogy – Do you want to take the blue pill or the red pill? Don’t know what I mean. Then you need to watch the movie to find out the answer to a question – What is the Matrix?
Maverick – Do you think that was fast? I think that was fast. My wife and I love that one scene from the movie. It was a pleasure to see James Garner in the movie. No spoiler alert for this movie. So I got to stop before spill the beans.
Men in Black movies – All of these are entertaining. But the best ones are the ones with Will Smith.
National Treasure I and 2 – timeless movies that never get old. I could watch these over and over again.
Night at the Museum movies – First one was the best when everything in the museum comes to life. Oops, sorry – I hope I didn’t give it all away.
Now you See Me 1 and 2 – I can’t wait for a third one to come out. But after watching the second one, it may be a long time if we see a 3rd one.
Overboard (Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn) – They’re so cute together. One of the best scenes is when the kids find out that’s she rich (not her ex).
Pirates of the Caribbean Movies – Johnny Depp steals the scenes in these movies. He’s the only character that has been in all of the movies.
Pixels – Cute movie about aliens invading earth with video games from the 1970s.
Pleasantville – Don Knots was funny in this movie. But the best scene is when all of the colors slowly start coming back into play.
Practical Magic – It features a spell cast by one of the girls when she was very young so that she would never fall in love. But she falls in love with someone that we never expect till the end. Gotta watch for the clues on the traits that her true love should have.
Predator 1, 2, and the last one – Two of the best were the first one and the 2nd one with Danny Glover.
Pretty Woman – a classic movie. Favorite scene in the whole movie is when she goes to buy a dress and is refused service. Then the tables are turned when she returns to the store with her famous line – “Big mistake, big, huge.”
Raiders of the Lost Ark – The Indiana Jones movies were pretty good except for the second one called the Temple of Doom which was disappointing. The other good Indiana Jones movies were the Crystal Skull and Indiana Jones and the last Crusade. I don’t if anyone remembers or not but I used to have a Personal Computer game with Indiana Jones and I laugh because of how simple the game was compared to games of today.
Romancing the Stone – Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. Danny Divito also starred in the movie. What’s strange is that she falls in love with one of the characters that she Kathleen Wilder was describing in one of her romantic novels.
Runaway Bride – a lot of return characters from Pretty Woman return in this about a Bride that keeps running away from the altar. But Richard Gere has the last laugh when the running shoes are turned over to her fiance.
Runaway Jury – we don’t find out until the end of the movie that this was never a movie about making money for themselves. It was a scheme to help the whole city and prevent a crooked lawyer from rigging trials.
Singin’ in the Rain – epic movie with Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. My step-father was in the movie as a double, but the scene never made it to the movie.
Terminator movies – One of my favorites was the one called Terminator Genesis when they stopped Judgement Day from happening. Like Jaws and Alien, we’ll probably never see an end to all of the Terminator movies.
The Adams Family movies – Christopher Lloyd stole the show as Uncle Fester.
The Fifth Element – Love this movie. I usually see something different every time I watch the movie. I’ve probably seen this movie more times than I’ve watched Back to the Future (which is a lot).
The Illusionist – Let me just say that this a movie that you have to pay close attention to the movie from beginning to end. After you’ve seen the end, you’ll want to watch it a second time and then you’ll spot the clues.
The Incredible Mr. Limpett – Don Knots turns into a fish. Because he loves fishes. After he turns into a fish he turns into a secret weapon for the U.S. Naval Department.
The Longest Yard (both versions) – I like that Burt Reynolds was in both movies. I bet he told a lot of war stories about the first one in filming.
The Net – a movie starring Sandra Bullock from the Speed fame. This time her identity has been taken away and changed into someone else’s and she has to get it back.
The Princess Bride – As you wish! Don’t know what I mean. It’s a way of every time I say as you wish it means I Love You.
The Santa Clause movies – Tim Allen was hysterical in these movies. They are a Christmas ritual every year to watch.
The Sixth Sense – Great ending. I don’t want to give it away.
The Specialist – Sylvester Stallone is a demolitions expert going up against the guy who taught him the trade.
The Sting – one of the best movies ever, funny, drama, entertainment, a con, and good acting.
The Truman Show – Speaking of good acting, Jim Carrey was fantastic as his role of Truman.
Titantic – Long movie and entertaining if you can sit through the whole thing. True love story.
True Lies – one of my wife’s and I favorite movies with Arnie (other than Terminator). He plays a nice guy in this movie.
X-Men movies – The days of Wolverine are over. I doubt anyone will be able to step into the Wolverine roll ever again.
You’ve Got Mail – Great love story told about an old Internet program called AOL – that introduced e-mail with a notice – You’ve Got Mail.
